Wow. It's been too long. I have so many great songs and albums to review! I think about this blog 24/7 and I am THRILLLLED to finally have a chance to sit down and share it all with you.
The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson is a song you probably all have heard. I used to hear it play in the ice skating rink every time my friends and I went (which wasn't often enough). So when my mom said "I FOUND THE BEST SONG EVER!!" and played it for me I fell so in love with it.
This song is an absolutely wonderfully simple love song. It's not a song about how she'd die without the man she loves or how he's her world or she can't stop thinking about him. No, she just talks about how she'll take of him, because he takes her just the way she is despite what everyone else thinks.
The lyrics are so cute! And I just love the world the music puts you in. It's calm and flowy, and the way the verses flow wit her voice sounds really sincere. She puts a lot of tiny minute dynamics into the song and she puts a lot of controlled emotion into a short uncomplicated song.
I have to say, I also love that it's from a self released album of hers, and the reason she started making her own music was because she never got into any shows on Broadway or else where because she was never "the type". So she was like "Screw it, I'm doing my own thing!" ;)
The video says all! So enjoy, enjoy, for it's been too long :)
Recently I went to the American Idols Live! Tour concert in Washington, DC. I have a full review of that coming up, but during the concert I was introduced to some gorgeous songs, one of them being Starlight by Muse. When Adam Lambert sang Starlight, I was BLOWN AWAY. I was really scared to get the original because often when Adam covers songs, his version of it and his voice is just so superior to those of the original artists. I was (and am) happy to report that Muse absolutely NAILS it!
Starlight is a song about missing someone. Anyone. Anyone who cares about you and anyone who you care about in return. Lead singer for Muse, Matthew Bellamy, said that he first wrote the song on a ship in bad weather, but I think the ship in the song can have many different meanings.
A journey, literal or figurative. A journey that makes you sacrifice things and explore new things, and build and break your expectations. Find new revelations, despairs and celebrations.
But the song has fear, desperation. Fear that your loved one will disappear while you take your journey. Fear that he/she will become a memory, and that memory will fade away. Desperation to hold on to them. To chase them and love them no matter what, to never let them go.
It also has hope. Hope and love towards that person, something that person brings out inside of you, something you want to bring out in other. Something you want to share with and show the world, with your loved one by your side.
This song is about love, hope, togetherness, ambition and desperation. It's life.
The lyrics are so inspiring and the song is so well put together with Mr.Bellamy's vocals and the guitar, drums and piano used. I love the emotional strength portrayed through the piano and drums. It's powerful, but beautiful. Matthew Bellamy does an especially amazing job during the chorus (hold you in my arms...etc.). He has such emotion, but still maintains his voice and uses it so effectively when switching to the higher notes. It's altogether gorgeous.
I hope you are inspired <3
Starlight-*****
Starlight- Muse
Far away This ship is taking me far away Far away from the memories Of the people who care if I live or die
The starlight I will be chasing your starlight Until the end of my life I don't know if it's worth it anymore
Hold you in my arms I just wanted to hold You in my arms
My life You electrify my life Let's conspire to re-ignite All the souls that would die just to feel alive
But I'll never let you go If you promised not to fade away Never fade away
Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations
Hold you in my arms I just wanted to hold You in my arms
Far away This ship is taking me far away Far away from the memories Of the people who care if I live or die
And I'll never let you go If you promise not to fade away Never fade away
Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations
Hold you in my arms I just wanted to hold You in my arms I just wanted to hold

And for the sake of loving him... Here's Adam performing Starlight in Newark (thank you TheAdamBombs!:
This is a song I caught a video of on Fuse. Second Chance is a song about finding yourself and following your dreams even if other people don't understand or try to pull you down. It's about knowing who you are and taking chances for your dreams and embracing your passion even if everyone around you seems to be pulling you in the opposite direction.
I love the video even more than the song. In fact, if it weren't for the video I probably wouldn't have even been posting about this song. It depicts a story of a girl who loves to dance and she practices alone in her basement. She gets really good all by herself and she wants to go to a dance audition, but her parents want her to stay and work for money because of the bills they have to pay. So she runs away at night and leaves the life she has with her friends and boyfriend and her family to chase her dreams.
I think this song has a powerful message and I also love "sometimes goodbye is a second chance" because it gave her a chance at greatness and happiness and it also gave her family a second chance to be more united over her leaving and get along better. So please enjoy the video and the song! Even if the lead singer can be a little melodramatic in the video lol.
My eyes are open wide And by the way, I made it Through the day I watched the world outside By the way, I'm leaving out Today
Well I just saw Hayley's comet, shooting Said "why you always running in place? Even the man in the moon disappeared Somewhere in the stratosphere"
Tell my mother, Tell my father I've done the best I can To make them realize This is my life I hope they understand I'm not angry, I'm just saying... Sometimes goodbye Is a second chance
Please don't cry One tear for me I'm not afraid of What I have to say This is my one and Only voice So listen close, it's Only for today
Here's my chance This is my chance
Tell my mother, Tell my father I've done the best I can To make them realize This is my life I hope they understand I'm not angry, I'm just saying... Sometimes goodbye Is a second chance
This is a song by Regina Spektor. I really like this song, because I love the simple lyrics that mean so much. I can really relate to the first line :) I like how she admits that she's hurt herself by protecting herself. That sometimes you need to let your heart go to be truly happy.
I think she has a gorgeous voice and I like that you can tell she has technique behind her singing and she's not just singing because she thinks she can. I also like that she doesn't get really loud, but she still has different levels of emotion in her voice.
The song is very deep and yet light. If I say nothing else, I will say that it's different. New. So I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do. Here is Fidelity.
Fidelity
Fidelity- Regina Spektor
(Shake it up) I never loved nobody fully Always one foot on the ground And by protecting my heart truly I got lost in the sounds I hear in my mind All these voices I hear in my mind all these words I hear in my mind all this music
And it breaks my heart And it breaks my heart And it breaks my heart It breaks my heart
And suppose I never met you Suppose we never fell in love Suppose I never ever let you kiss me so sweet and so soft Suppose I never ever saw you Suppose we never ever called Suppose I kept on singing love songs just to break my own fall Just to break my fall Just to break my fall Break my fall Break my fall
All my friends say that of course its gonna get better Gonna get better Better better better better Better better better
I never love nobody fully Always one foot on the ground And by protecting my heart truly I got lost In the sounds I hear in my mind All these voices I hear in my mind all these words I hear in my mind All this music And it breaks my heart It breaks my heart Breaks my Heart Breaks my heart
So this song is Feel Good Drag by Anberlin. I discovered them on Fuse (like most of the artists I post about) and I really fell in love with this song.
I love the introduction to the song, because it's exciting enough to interest you, but it has that tinge of suspense that leads into the first verse. The verses are very cool and story like while the chorus is more of the emotional part. I like the strain Stephen Christian has to his voice, it really pulls you in to the chorus.
But I have a pet peeve: repetitiveness. I think Christian gave it all at the first chorus and so past that, there wasn't anything exciting. I was disappointed that he didn't change his voice with the different chorus sections and/or didn't play around with any notes or rhythms. The vocals also seemed to be quite dynamically impaired.
Guitar, guitar. I liked the guitar part in this song including the solo.
All in all, this is a pretty good song and I am giving it 4 stars :) Enjoy!

"I'm here for you," she said and we can stay for awhile, my boyfriend's gone we can just pretend. Lips that need no introduction Now who's the greater sin Your drab eyes seem to invite (tell me darling) Where do we begin.
Was this over before... before it ever began? Your kiss, your calls, your crutch Like the devil's got your hand This was over before Before it ever began Your lips, your lies, your lust Like the devil's in your hands
Everyone in this town is seeing somebody else Everybody's tired of someone our eyes wander for help Prayers that need no answer now I'm tired of who I am You were my greatest mistake I fell in love with your sin Your littlest sin
Was this over before... before it ever began? Your kiss, your calls, your crutch Like the devil's got your hand This was over before Before it ever began Your lips, your lies, your lust Like the devil's in your hands
Failure is your disease You want my outline drawn You were my greatest failure Discourse your saving song
Was this over before... before it ever began? Your kiss, your calls, your crutch Like the devil's got your hand This was over before Before it ever began Your lips, your lies, your lust Like the devil's in your hands
This is a video/song by Unkle. I found out about it while I was looking up Panic At The Disco interviews (I have no life) and I found their "video lineup" for Rage so I looked up all the videos they mentioned and this one really stuck with me (if you don't want the whole Rage thing and want to skip to the part about Rabbit In Your Headlights click here)(but it's really fun to watch so I suggest you watch the whole thing)(in fact, maybe I'll just post all their videos in one post, what do you think?)
So this this is Rabbit In Your Headlights by U-N-K-L-E (lol) and I just really love the video because it could mean so many things. I feel like the coat represents his boundaries and his insecurities and the cars are like all the obstacles that face him in life. Even the two guys that slow down to help him because I think that shows that when your too obsessed in your own faults and you hide in your own insecurities, opportunities can pass you by.
I really love the video and I hope you do too!
Rabbit In Your Headlights
Rabbit In Your Headlights- Unkle
Im a rabbit in your headlights Scared of the spotlight You dont come to visit Im stuck in this bed
Thin rubber gloves She laughs when shes crying She cries when shes laughing
Fat bloody fingers are sucking your soul away... (away....away....away....)
Im a rabbit in your headlights Christian suburbanite Washed down the toliet Money to burn
Fat bloody fingers are sucking your soul away...
Sample from movie jacobs ladder : If youre frightened of dyin and youre holding on... Youll see devils tearing your life away. But...if youve made your peace, Then the devila are really angels Freeing you from the earth.....from the earth....from the earth
Rotworms on the underground Caught between stations Butterfingers Im losing my patience
Im a rabbit in your headlights Christian suburbanite You got money to burn....
Fat bloody fingers are sucking your soul away..... Away, away, away, Away, away, away.
This song is a gorgeous guitar/vocal piece sung by Robert Pattinson. My interpretation of this song is how much he loves a girl, but he can't be with her. He wants her, but he knows he'll hurt her. He wants her to run, to stay away from him because he's no good for her, but he's admitting that he's not strong enough to stay away from her. He shouldn't even think about being with her because they can't be together, but she loves him, too. He doesn't want her to love him, but at the same time, he does. And she'll loose everything for him, but it's her choice because he's too selfish and weak (in a good way) to stay away even though he knows he should.
This song is so emotional, at least for me. It's about hurting and anger and selfishness and weakness and giving up and holding on and dreaming and loving. It's about love, but the real kind. Pain and hurt and sacrifice and weakness. But there's a sort of peace and happiness to the song. Like he wants to be mad at her for loving him, he wants to hate her, he wants to make her understand how they can't be together, he wants to be strong, but he's relieved and happy that neither of them have the strength.
The music and lyrics just paint a beautiful picture and in that whole description I don't think I was even close to capturing the full essence and full meaning of this beautifullysung piece: Never Think.
Never Think (unofficial video)- *****
Never Think- Robert Pattinson
I should never think What's in your heart What's in our home So I won't
You'll learn to hate me But still call me baby Oh love So call me by my name And save your soul Save your soul Before your to far gone Before nothing can be done
I'll try to decide when She'll lie in the end I ain't got no fight in me In this whole damn world So hold off -wrong- (Tell you to hold off) She should hold off-wrong- (You choose to hold on) It's the one thing that I've known
Once I put my coat on I coming out in this all wrong She standing outside holding me Saying oh please I'm in love I'm in love
Girl save your soul Go on save your soul Before it's to far gone And before nothing can be done
Cause without me You got it all So hold on Without me you got it all So hold on Without me you got it all Without me you got it all So hold on Without me you got it all Without me you got it all So hold on
This is a duet by Jack White (from The White Stripes) and Alicia Keys made for the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. It's a beautiful combination of alternative and pop. I think their voices really compliment each other. Her smooth and powerful voice matches beautifully with his rough and mysterious voice.
There has never been a duet song made for a Bond movie, so I thought it was very smart to put these two together. The song is really about trust and how James Bond can't trust anyone, not even himself. I really like the lyrics.
One part I love is when Jack screeches these guitar riffs and Alicia answers with her matching and yet contrasting voice.
I hope you appreciate this wonderful, um, musical paradox? I don't know if that makes sense, but it does to me. Then again that doesn't mean much :P
Enjoy!
Another Way To Die
Another Way To Die- Jack White and Alicia Keys
Another player with the slick trigger finger For Her Majesty Another one with the golden tone voice Poisoning your fantasy Another bill from a killer Turned a thriller into a tragedy
A door left open A woman walking by A drop in the water A look in the eye A phone on the table A man on your side Oh, someone that you think that you can trust Is just Another way to die
Another tricky little gun Giving solace to the one That will never see the sunshine Another inch of your life sacrificed for your brother, In the nick of time Another dirty money “heaven sent honey”, Turning on a dime
Well, a door left open A woman walking by A drop in the water A look in the eye A phone on the table A man on your side Someone that you think that you can trust Is just Another way to die
Hey! Another way to die! (Another way to die…) Shoot ‘em, bang bang! Oh oh oh oh oh oh! Oh oh oh oh oh oh! Oh oh oh oh oh oh! Oh oh oh oh oh oh…
Yeah Hey hey hey!
Another girl with her finger On the world singing too Don’t you wanna hear? Another gun thrown down and surrendered Took away your fear Hey! Another man that stands right behind you Looking in the mirror
Oh, a door left open A woman walking by A drop in the water A look in the eye A phone on the table A man on your side Someone that you think that you can trust Is just Another way to die
It’s another way! Shoot ’em up, bang bang! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! (Another way, another way…) Yeah! (Another way, another way…
I discovered this band and song on Fuse while I was watching the #1 Countdown: Alternative. Their video came in number 1 and I can see why. It fails to bore anyone and it's incredibly fun to dance to; it definitely gets your adrenaline rushing! I actually like this guy's voice, too. I don't know why, it's not really special or anything, but then again there could be a perfectly good reason but I just wrote my Rock Band Live review and my brain is fried lol.
So enjoy, enjoy!

Now dance, fucker, dance man, he never had a chance And no one even knew It was really only you
And now you steal away Take him out today nice work you did You’re gonna go far, kid
With a thousand lies And a good disguise Hit em' right between the eyes Hit em' right between the eyes
when you walk away, nothing more to say. see the lightning in your eyes see em' running for their lives
slowly out of line and drifting closer in your sights So play it all, I’m wide awake It’s a scene about me
There’s something in your way And now someone is gonna pay And if you can’t get what you want Well, it’s all because of me
Now dance, fucker, dance man he never had a chance And no one even knew It was really only you
And now you lead the way show the light of day nice work you did You’re gonna go far, kid
Trust deceived!

As some of you may know (even though inside I know I'm only talking to two people who do know) I went to a Rock Band Live concert on Sunday. The bands that played there were The Cab, Plain White T's, Dashboard Confessional, and Panic At The Disco (respectively). Today I am reviewing one of the songs by The Cab that stuck with me.
This song is called Risky Business. Before The Cab started playing, the front man told us that whenever he said "Stop asking" we say "Keep dancing!". I just can't get through that song without singing that line lol :P (see short video below)
Risky Business (live at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey)
The Cab: Alex DeLeon-vocals Cash Colligan-bass Alex Johnson-drums Alex Marshall-piano, vocals, guitar Ian Crawford-guitar
I think this song is just so fun to dance to. I also have to say that The Cab is really advanced considering this is from their first and only album (so far) and it just came out in April! I love the bridge, too (I'm talkin bout change...). It's all great so please enjoy! (and if I'm building them up to be better than they are you have to understand I'm not aware of this because seeing them live makes me automatically love them)

Hi! I know I have been gone for a while and my Kerli post is getting kinda old so I'm going to post about a new artist: Coldplay.
I took this quiz called "What's Your Love Song?" and my result was "Yellow by Coldplay". So I decided to check it out. And I have to tell you, I fell in love. Short and sweet, but what really gets me is the pure simplicity. He wrote a song for her. He called it "Yellow". The stars shine for her. And they are Yellow. He'd swim an ocean for her, he'd jump across it for her. He thinks she's beautiful. He loves her so. I mean, how easy can it be? He loves whoever he's talking to and that's it. It's a nice song and I was never really into Coldplay before, but know I have to look up more of their stuff.
I also love how the vocals are very simple and they convey emotion without doing anything ground-breakingly drastic. No screaming, no huge changes. Just singing. And the music holds most of the emotion in the song which I really like.
The video is just as simple (possibly simpler) than the song and I like the lighting and how it gets brighter as the song goes along.
Enjoy!
Yellow - ****1/2
Yellow- Coldplay
Look at the stars, Look how they shine for you, And everything you do, Yeah they were all yellow,
I came along I wrote a song for you And all the things you do And it was called yellow
So then I took my turn Oh all the things I've done And it was all yellow
Your skin Oh yeah your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful D'you know you know I love you so You know I love you so
I swam across I jumped across for you Oh all the things you do Cause you were all yellow
I drew a line I drew a line for you Oh what a thing to do And it was all yellow
Your skin Oh yeah your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful D'you know for you i bleed myself dry For you i bleed myself dry
Its true look how they shine for you look how they shine for you look how they shine for you look how they shine for you look how they shine for you look how they shine look at the stars look how they shine for you
When I first heard this song I completely fell in love. It was the first song I heard by the Smashing Pumpkins and the lyrics just really get to me. It's about hope and confidence and change and, well, believing. The message is so simple and the words so beautiful. Below is the music video and lyrics. Below that is Brendon Urie performing Tonight, Tonight in concert. I think he does it wonderfully. Enjoy!
Tonight, Tonight
Tonight, Tonight- Smashing Pumpkins
Time is never time at all You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth And our lives are forever changed We will never be the same The more you change the less you feel
Believe, believe in me, believe Believe that life can change That youre not stuck in vain Were not the same, were different tonight Tonight, so bright Tonight
And you know youre never sure But youre sure you could be right If you held yourself up to the light And the embers never fade in your city by the lake The place where you were born
Believe, believe in me, believe Believe in the resolute urgency of now And if you believe theres not a chance tonight Tonight, so bright Tonight
Well crucify the insincere tonight Well make things right, well feel it all tonight Well find a way to offer up the night tonight The indescribable moments of your life tonight The impossible is possible tonight Believe in me as I believe in you, tonight

I just got this song on my iPod yesterday and I am completely in love with it. It's got a great dancing-type beat and the chorus is kind of a dark/mysterious feel. I love the change in the beat in the fourth chorus (it's starred). I can definitely see it as a song that would connect with a live audience well and would be great to see in concert. Patrick's voice has really grown and it was just great to get some fresh, new material from Fall Out Boy. Yes, here is FOB's single from their upcoming album Folie A Duex called I Don't Care.
I Don't Care (not official video)- *****
I Don't Care- Fall Out Boy
Say my name, and his in the same breath, I Dare you to say they taste the same, Let the leaves fall off in the summer And let December glow feel flames
Brace myself and let go, Start it over again in Mexico These friends, they don’t love you They just love the hotel suites, now
I don’t care what you think As long as it’s about me The best of us can find happiness In misery
Oh, take a chance, let your body get a tolerance, I’m not a chance, but a heat wave in your pants Pull a breath like another cigarette, Palms up, I’m trading ‘em (trading ‘em)
I’m the oracle in my chest, Let the guitar scream like a fascist, Sweat it out, shut your mouth, Free love on the streets, but In the alley and I ain’t that cheap, now
I don’t care what you think, As long as it’s about me The best of us can find happiness In misery
I don’t care what you think, As long as it’s about me The best of us can find happiness In misery
Said-a, I don’t care just a-what you think, As long as it’s about me, you said-a I don’t care just what you think, As long as it’s about me, you said-a I don’t care (I don’t care) You said I don’t care (I don’t care) Said I don’t care, I don’t care I don’t care (I don’t care), I said-a I don’t care
*I don’t care what you think, As long as it’s about me The best of us can find happiness In misery*
I don’t care what you think, As long as it’s about me The best of us can find happiness In misery
Hi! I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in over week. But I was just listening to my iPod while I was writing the other day and I listened to this song that I haven't heard in months. As I was listening to it I realized how beautiful and simple it was. Just a guitar and vocals with some cello/violin at the end. Simple, but gorgeous. The yrics are wonderful and the whole song is so pure, so sincere. I really love it. Of course I can especially relate to NYC, so it makes it that much more special. Three cheers for Plain White T's! P.S. I rate this song five stars.
Hey There Delilah- *****
Hey There Delilah- Plain White T's
Hey there Delilah What's it like in New York City? I'm a thousand miles away But girl, tonight you look so pretty Yes you do Times Square can't shine as bright as you I swear it's true
Hey there Delilah Don't you worry about the distance I'm right there if you get lonely Give this song another listen Close your eyes Listen to my voice, it's my disguise I'm by your side
Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me What you do to me
Hey there Delilah I know times are getting hard But just believe me, girl Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar We'll have it good We'll have the life we knew we would My word is good
Hey there Delilah I've got so much left to say If every simple song I wrote to you Would take your breath away I'd write it all Even more in love with me you'd fall We'd have it all
Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me
A thousand miles seems pretty far But they've got planes and trains and cars I'd walk to you if I had no other way Our friends would all make fun of us and we'll just laugh along because we know That none of them have felt this way Delilah I can promise you That by the time we get through The world will never ever be the same And you're to blame
Hey there Delilah You be good and don't you miss me Two more years and you'll be done with school And I'll be making history like I do You'll know it's all because of you We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here's to you This one's for you
Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me What you do to me.
Hi everyone. Today I'm going to review a great song by Breaking Benjamin. As you can see, they've made it to my "awesome bands, cool music stores and anything else that has to do with music" list, so they're pretty awesome. So this song is from they're album Phobia and it's about (well, the way I see it) fighting the world and the bipolar emotions and thoughts we all have knowing we fight the world till we die and wanting to escape reality. Wanting to see life through a screen. Because we are one of the thousands of soldiers that the world doesn't know about.
There is no video that does this song justice so to listen, click here.
Unknown Soldier- Breaking Benjamin
Borderline, Dead inside. I don't mind, Falling to pieces. Count me in, Violent, Let's begin. Feeding the sickness. How do I simplify, Dislocate, The enemy is on the way.
[Chorus] Show me what it's like To dream in black and white, So I can leave this world tonight.
Full of fear, Everclear. I'll be here, Fighting forever. Curious, Venomous, You'll find me Climbing to heaven. Never mind, Turn back time. You'll be fine, I will get left behind.
[Chorus] Show me what it's like To dream in black and white, So I can leave this world tonight. Holding on too tight. Breathe the breath of life, So I can leave this world behind.
It only hurts just once. They're only broken bones. Hide the hate inside.
[Chorus] Show me what it's like To dream in black and white, So I can leave this world tonight. Holding on too tight. Breathe the breath of life, So I can leave this world behind.
This is another wonderful song by breaking Benjamin. It's played beautifully with great drums and guitar parts, wonderful suspense and incredible conviction. I really love it. I see it as being betrayed by someone you love, but needing them nonetheless and feeling helpless.

Hold it together. Birds of a feather. Nothing but lies and crooked wings. I have the answer. Spreading the cancer. You are the faith inside me. No, Don't, leave me to die here. Help me survive here, alone. Don't Remember! Remember!
Put me to sleep, Evil Angel. Open your wings, Evil Angel. (Ahhh)
I'm a believer. Nothing could be worse. All these imaginary friends. Hiding betrayal. Driving the nail. Hoping to find a savior. No, don't, leave me to die here. Help me survive here, alone. Don't Surrender! Surrender!
Put me to sleep, Evil Angel. Open your wings, Evil Angel. (oohh) Fly over me, Evil Angel. Why can't I breathe, Evil Angel?
Put me to sleep, Evil Angel. Open your wings, Evil Angel. (oohh) Fly over me, Evil Angel. Why can't I breathe, Evil Angel?
This is an amazing song. I first heard it on music.is.life and I fell in love. This hip hop/rap style of music doesn't usually interest me, but this lyrics and feeling and meaning behind them is just stunning. It's about ambition and changing and growing with the world's technology and how the competition to be better than anyone else can put you in a place with too much power and no guidance. How ambition and lack of gratitude and humility can pull you in the wrong direction. And the way the singer executes this song is shocking. He has every emotion down to where you feel exactly what he's saying without screaming or cursing or losing complete control. I also must admit that that is one of the first trumpet players I've heard to play a piece with such conviction. It's a wonderful modern touch to this very modern-world related song. My skin tingles and my heart races every time I listen to this song because it's so incredibly powerful. The video is great and really explains the competition between him and his friend and him being thrown into a world with so much power and he goes crazy. And how things really get out of hand. Watch.
Handlebars
Hanlebars- Flobots
I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars, no handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars, no handlebars
Look at me, look at me Hands in the air like it's good to be Alive, and I'm a famous rapper Even when the paths're all crooked-y I can show you how to do-si-do I can show you how to scratch a record I can take apart the remote control And I can almost put it back together I can tie a knot in a cherry stem I can tell you about Leif Ericson I know all the words to "De Colores" And "I'm Proud to be an American" Me and my friend saw a platypus Me and my friend made a comic book And guess how long it took I can do anything that I want 'cause, look
I can keep rhythm with no metronome, no metronome, no metronome I can see your face on the telephone, on the telephone, on the telephone
Look at me, look at me Just called to say that it's good to be Alive, in such a small world All curled up with a book to read I can make money, open up a thrift store I can make a living off a magazine I can design an engine, sixty four Miles to a gallon of gasoline I can make new antibiotics I can make computers survive aquatic conditions I know how to run a business And I can make you wanna buy a product Movers, shakers, and producers Me and my friends understand the future I see the strings that control the systems I can do anything with no assistance
I can lead a nation with a microphone, with a microphone, with a microphone I can split the atoms of a molecule, of a molecule, of a molecule
Look at me, look at me Driving and I won't stop And it feels so good to be Alive and on top My reach is global, my tower secure My cause is noble, my power is pure I can hand out a million vaccinations Or let 'em all die in exasperation Have 'em all healed of their lacerations Have 'em all killed by assassination I can make anybody go to prison Just because I don't like 'em and I can do anything with no permission I have it all under my command
I can guide a missile by satellite, by satellite, by satellite And I can hit a target through a telescope, through a telescope, through a telescope And I can end the planet in a holocaust, in a holocaust, in a holocaust ...
I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars, no handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars, no handlebars
